Cloud Computing Essentials (MS55024)

The Cloud Essentials courseware provides for a 2-day, interactive, classroom-based learning experience. The course provides a balanced curriculum and addresses the business and technical perspectives of cloud computing. Topics cover how best to adopt, operate, and govern the cloud. The course enables participants to successfully complete the associated CompTIA Cloud Essentials™ Exam to become Cloud Essentials™ Certified. In addition, the course complements the Virtualization Essentials course, which they can do either before or after they’ve taken the Cloud Essentials course. If both respective exams are passed, professionals can request the Cloud Technology Associate certificate from the Cloud Credential Council.

The course content was developed and is continually maintained by leading Cloud Vendors and experts along with inputs and direction from Microsoft.

This course content is unique as it takes a scenario-driven approach to learning as it enables participants to get into the right mindset to apply the principles in a realistic setting. The role-play activities included in this course present a real-world connect using situations that occur in day-to-day life. Moreover, interactivities such as brainstorms, quizzes, and discussions add to the interactive nature of this course.

Module 2: Introduction to Cloud Computing

This module introduces you to the common definitions of cloud computing and the categories of cloud services. In addition, you will learn about the common situations in which cloud services are suitable. This module tells how over the past few years, virtualization and cloud computing have made significant changes to the way information technology or IT is organized. With the progress of these technologies, it has become less important to own a particular server and more important to share computing resources. Virtualization enables hardware to be shared among virtual servers. Cloud computing enables these servers to be shared with multiple users, so that their location does not matter anymore.
